Am I really the only one that finds the Prince from Beauty and the Beast to be a pre-Raphaelite dream?
I am?
Oh.
Okay.
The feeling I get whenever I’m in a library or Barnes and Noble.
Can I just say, this is my favorite part of the whole movie. I think it’s in the audio commentary they point this out, Belle very nearly leaves. She nearly gets back on Philippe and gallops off, presumably home, and leaves the Beast for dead and his castle to itself. Belle may have sacrificed her dreams for somebody she loves, but she’s human - at least a little selfish - so why not leave and go back to her old life?
This is when she begins to change. This is when her conscience, or whatever you want to call it, tells her to get that monstrous person on her horse and take him back to his castle, her prison, and make sure he’s okay.
THANK YOU. Whenever I go crazy over this scene, people just roll their eyes and walk away. But it’s the turning point of the ENTIRE MOVIE.
